Offsite Activities
Situated above the start of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, our smallholding is located near the lovely Amroth beach. It takes just 10 minutes to drive and 25 minutes to walk to this seaside village.
Our campsite is well placed for easy access to other beautiful Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire beaches, as well as charming towns and a wide range of tourist attractions catering for all ages and interests. Outdoor enthusiasts, water sports lovers, walkers, cyclists and runners will find plenty of local opportunities to pursue their activities.
Walking and Hiking
The world famous 186 mile (290 km) Pembrokeshire Coastal Path starts just to the south of our farm and we are a short distance from the beautiful Preseli Hills. But you don’t have to be a serious hiker to enjoy stretching your legs.
There is a whole range of walks to suit every ability, with some starting from the campsite so that you don’t need to get in the car. We even have two nature trail walks at our campsite.
Running and Cycling
The running and cycling routes directly from our campsite and in our immediate locality are fantastic! Park Runners will be pleased to know that we are only five minutes away from the Colby Woodland Park Run.
Cyclists love our proximity to long- distance routes; we are just off the Celtic Trail and Sustans National Cycle Route 4 Celtic Trail – Sustrans.org.uk. An abundance of shorter, traffic free routes, country lanes and numerous mountain biking options are also found in the area.
Natural World
Using our nature trails, you can explore the fern-filled woodland on the farm, along with neighbouring valleys to see what birds can be spotted.
The ecosystem in this part of Britain is as close as we get to the temperate rainforests of New Zealand and Tasmania.
The cliffs and beaches are a treasure trove for budding geologists and we even have a 7,000-year-old fossil forest that is exposed at low tide on Amroth beach.
Nearby world famous islands like Skomer, Ramsey and Caldey Islands are wonderful potential day-trips to see wildlife such as puffins, seals and red squirrels.
Gardens
Colby Woodland Gardens (owned by the National Trust) is just 5 minutes drive away.
In addition to the delights of the garden itself, the carpark is an ideal location to start a wonderful walk to the sea.
Other important gardens in our area include; The National Botanic Garden of Wales, Aberglasney Gardens, Colby Woodland Garden and Picton Castle Gardens.
Culture, art and food
Campers keen on literature will enjoy a trip to Laugharne to visit Dylan Thomas’s Boat House and his grave.
Why not get your paint brushes out, or do a tour of the many artist galleries in the area?
For foodies, there are excellent cafes, restaurants and farm shops in the area.
Water Sport
Amroth beach is just 10 minutes drive away and it is a brilliant place for sea swimming. Pembrokeshire has many awesome surf beaches, including the famous Freshwater West and Newgale beaches.
Local beaches, harbours and rivers are ideal for paddleboarding, kayaking and sailing. Many companies rent out equipment and give lessons. No holiday for the adventurous is complete without trying out coasteering, a water activity developed in Pembrokeshire.

Nearby towns
The much loved seaside towns of Tenby and Saundersfoot are just down the coast from our campsite and the quirky and artistic town of Narberth is only 20 minutes away.
Slightly further away are Carmarthen and Britain’s smallest city, St Davids.
Castles and history
West Wales is full of castles that are a result of its rich history. Pembroke Castle, (home of Henry Tudor), Carew Castle, Laugharne Castle and Manorbier Castle are a short distance from our campsite. St David’s Cathedral is beautiful and well worth a visit.
Nearby the campsite there are many traces of industrial heritage such as the ironworks near Wiseman’s Bridge. Numerous local museums and National Trust properties capture the history and heritage of West Wales.
Leisure attractions
Our campsite is well situated for day trips to places like; Folly Farm Zoo, Manor Park Zoo, Oakwood Theme Park, and the National Botanic Garden of Wales.
Don’t forget the fascinating St David’s Bug Farm.
